Wellness Support Heading link

The Wellness Center provides educational workshops, events, resources and services supporting overall well-being of students, including this Mental Health Toolkit. Please visit the Wellness Center for a life skills consultation, sexual health resources, stress management tools, and much more.
The Counseling Center offers several services to student who need support navigating different challenges and stressors. Student can sign up for single session appointments, workshops, mind-body programs, and crisis services.

If you are having food insecurities, please take advantage of the UIC Pop Up Pantry that helps hundreds of students each year. Student can stop at the Wellness Center to sign up or ask any questions about the pantry.

The Rec Center has different facilities available for students and free fitness classes. There are several activities for students to take advantage if you are interested in yoga, swimming, boxing, and much more.

Financial Support Heading link

The U and I Care Fund provides a one time award to registered students who need help covering essential expenses because of a short-term or unexpected hardship.

UIC Student Financial Aid and Scholarships (SFAS) assists UIC students and families who need help applying for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). SFAS is available to support students through each financial aid step.

Technology Assistance Heading link

Information Technology is composed of IT professionals from different units and colleges at the university. You are able to request equipment lending, learn how to activate UIC email, help resetting your password, and much more.

Career Resources Heading link

LAS Career Development & Internships office hosts several events throughout the semester to help students grow their career skills (professional development, coffee chats, Instagram live events, career & major exploration, etc.). You can schedule an appointment with a Career Advisor for further application guidance.

UIC Career Services helps students explore resources such as job boards, major exploration, and professional events. You can schedule an appointment with a Career Advisor who can help with resumes, CV, and cover letter.

UIC Career Services Office supports current enrolled students and alumni in their career journeys by providing services that advocate diversity, equity, and inclusion. You can find general diversity resources on their webpage such as professional organizations and online resources.

Visit the UIC Office of External Fellowships and Undergraduate Research for a variety of opportunities (local/national/international programs, research funding, etc).

UIC Basic Needs Insecurity provides resources for students who are experiencing housing/rent insecurity, food insecurity, and are otherwise struggling.

Resources listed include UIC’s HOUSE liaison, Basic Needs navigator, and other resources for food, nutrition, housing, emergency support, employment, clothing and personal care, mental health, legal assistance, and more.

The Rigo Padilla Pérez Undocumented Student Resource Center supports undocumented students who need help navigating how to pay for school, finding legal support, and academic counseling.

The Disability Resource Center provides support and accommodations for students. You are able to schedule an appointment where you can discuss your academic needs and create a plan to help with your courses.

First at LAS provides programming & initiatives for first-generation college students.

The Office for Access and Equity provides support and resources to respond to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation, in addition to support for ADA accommodations, religious accommodations, pregnancy and parenting, and resolving conflicts and grievances.

The Office of the Dean of Students provides assistance with various student concerns (academic, health, legal, community standards) and personal hardship.

Safety Resources Heading link

UIC’s SAFE App is a free tool for students, faculty, and staff to promote safety on campus. It includes a panic button to directly call UIC Police, sending them a pin of your location; ways to share your location with friends or the police; a Work Alone feature; and safe commute options.

UIC Night Ride provides on-demand safe transportation around campus overnight. It operates 365 days a year from 10 pm to 7 am.

The Office of Preparedness and Response has:

  • Guidelines for natural disasters, threats, evacuations, medical emergencies, etc.
  • Tools and training for violence prevention, emergency management, and hazard mitigation
  • A safety toolkit that includes information about the SAFE App, educational videos, and safety tools and tips
  •  Reporting tools

UIC Emergency Communications provide alerts for emergencies on and around campus and the website houses many safety tools.
